ScrapBerry's - Basik & Ko - Notes card

Hello ScrapBerry's and Paper friends!
Sharing with a card I made using the Words live Forever collection.

For this card I'm finally using the super cute Basik & Ko stamp. When ever I see it, it makes me think of the cartoon The Great Mouse Detective, and Sherlock Holmes. I had to make him look smart. Wearing something plaid. As you do!

For the background of the card I used a stencil and paste with a hounds-tooth design to keep the theme going. For my layers I fuzzy cut lots of beautiful items from the 12x12 collection. Finishing it of with some flowers and we have a fun card.
Thank you for checking in!

Have a wonderful day!

March projects for Lydia Guijt

Hello Blue Fern Studios friends!
Lydia Guijt here again with some new creations for March.
My first layout will be accompanied with a tutorial. You'll find that below.

For my second feature I've made something completely different. I hope you'll like it.

Memories

The new Spring Parade Collection has a beautiful color combination. For this layout I chose the Susie's Garden sheet.
For my background I started off using the Tattered Harlequin stamp for embossing and the Tattered News Print stamp for inking. After this I used a stencil and paste. After the background work is done I prepared the chipboard pieces.

Crossing the Lines with Speckled Mint and some Peacock Feathers. Wild Field Stem with Lavender Eggs on the flower part and Verdant with some sprinkling of Antique Gold. The same process for the Leafy Twigs. The title Memories - Chunky Words Halftone was done in Pink Dust. Once that was all done it was time to assemble the layout. I used the new Spring Peonies and Late Winter Lilies in my flower cluster. To finish off the page I added some further touches.

Below you'll find the video with the whole process of making this layout.
Enjoy!

Follow your Heart

For my second project I wanted to do something different.
Our Blue Fern Studios Chipboard is so nice and sturdy, it's perfect to use for Mixed Media projects.
I got a double sided canvas and tore out the center to open it up. I used pastes and stencils to created textures on the outside and center part. Once it was all dry I started with the Shabby Bits Bricks Chipboard pieces as the bast to build the center part on.

Using other materials like cardboard and metal embellishments stacking and tucking in and under to create interest and textures. On one of the top layers a couple of Leafy Page Accents. Around the edges I used the Note book Edges and having the Layering Stems fall over the edges.

With all the items in place and stuck down it was time to paint everything with black gesso. Once that was all dry it's time paint on all the the accents. The Follow your Heart title was first embossed and further highlighted with some acrylics and pastes.

Spring Greetings

For the last project this month I decided to make a set of cards using the new Spring Parade collection.

I started of with cutting different sizes of paper and played around with them creating a layered look. Once it was right I started filling it in with some doilies and some lace. For the Easter card I used one of the Easter Egg Ornaments and embossed it with Lavender Egg. Giving it some extra glitter with Peacock Feathers. The Spring card has a Spring Trinkets chipboard piece and is treated the same way.

To finish off the cards I used Later Winter Lilies and Soft Blossoms and some other decorations. The final touches were some mist splatters and we're all done with our card set.

Cherish every Moment!

Hello ScrapBerry's and Paper fans.
ScrapBerry's has so many beautiful paper collections and today I'm using the Photo Archive collection for a layout. The fun with these collections is that we have sheets in there with lots of details you can fuzzy cut to add to all your projects. Be it a layout, a card or something else.

I picked my picture from our trip to Las Vegas, always have the best time there. From there I started reverse compiling my layers. Cutting out all the little parts from the pages I want to use putting chipboard pieces and metal gears in between as well.

Sometimes it's just fun to do a layout without flowers, although there are some cut out ones. One of the sheets from this collection is filled with words and quotes. So many good ones to pick from. For every occasion.

For this layout I let the paper do all the talking. The layers, the background features on the paper, lots of fuzzy cutting, no other distractions. I hope you enjoyed my layout.

Since it's a new month, we also have a new Challenge at ScrapBerry's.

The challenge
In this challenge, you have two ways to win: together with your crafting friends, and at your favorite craft supply store.
One winning shop will be chosen according to the quality and the number of entries, and we will have an individual or team winner who will be chosen by a random drawing.
The winning team will receive up to 6 prize packs*, each worth €25.
Since more entries equals a higher chance to win, sharing this contest with your crafty friends will increase your own chances to win.

Spring challenge
Our spring challenge will run until April 30th and is open to everyone from all over the world. The theme for this challenge, as you may have already guessed, is:

SPRING

We challenge you to create a project with a spring theme to it. You could create an art journal page about spring, a fresh and bright lay-out, an Easter card or any other kind of spring project. It’s up to you!
The only rule is that at least 75% of the products you use must come from ScrapBerry’s.

How to enter:
In order to join the contest, simply post pictures of your project on your personal Facebook page, and in the ScrapBerry’s group on Facebook. Then like and tag/mention ScrapBerry’s page and your shop’s page (be sure to type ‘@’ before the name of the page you want to mention, i.e. @ scrapberrys).

To help us track your beautiful creations, please add the two hashtags below to your post:
1. #Spring17ScrapberrysChallenge

Smile, Life is Beautiful!

Hello Paper friends!
Sharing my latest today. A layout I made for the More than Words & Mixed Media Challenges.
I cannot believe the little girl on the photo will be 22 in just 10 more days. How time flies.

For my background work I used stamps, embossing powder, stencils, pastes and crackle pastes. It's quite the assortment of products.

I cut the chipboard in pieces and stuck it to the paper. After that I splattered with the Color Blooms and Splash-inks. I put down the cheesecloth that I had already colored earlier. On top of that the red Jute string. I wanted that to randomly pop out from behind the picture and flower arrangement.

The flowers are from several collections. If you've checked on my worked before you know that I love love love flowers. Dressing the arrangements up with some other little things and we're almost done. Of course we needed some butterflies too, some crystals, micro-beads and final splatters.

Thank you so much for checking my blog! I hope you liked my work.
Have a wonderful day!

Secret Message!

Hello Paper friends!
I'm so happy to share with you my latest creation.
I just love working on challenges.
I'll be entering this one into the Berry71Blue and Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo March challenges.

The layout fits perfectly into both. I've added lots of close-ups.

I first started with clear gesso on both sides of the paper. Once that was dry I got out a couple of UmWOw stencils . I used Modelling paste on the Pods Stencil and Gold Crackle Paste on the Brick Stencil. I used an assortment Prima Marketing Color Bloom colors (Yellow Mustard, Worn Leather, Empress Gold, Tea Stain) and 13@rts Splash inks (Yellow, Bronze, Gold, Silver) for more background work.

Once I was happy with the background I placed my pictures and started assembling the rest of the page. Using some Prima flowers from various collections.

Using UmWOw chipboard (Writer's Block Mash, Doodle Mash), Prima Metal Elements and SIIC.

Once all the elements were in place I went over it again with the Color Blooms and the Splash-Inks. As a final touch some word stickers and we're all done!

I had so much fun making this layout! Loving using all these Mixed Media.
