FUL - May - Canvas - The Sea!

Hello Paper Friends!
This months  Flying Unicorn kit is gorgeous with a wonderful travel/nautical theme. Combining the 2 brands, Prima Marketing and Authentique. In our kit you'll find a 6x6 piece of chipboard that can be used as a canvas and I was inspired by Robbie Heinrich Herring's idea  of using The IOD Molds. In my idea I wanted to make it look like a fireplace mantle. Having the weather wood paper as a wallpaper.

So that's how I started off. Form our 6x6 Prima French Riviera Collection packs in kit I got 2 sheets of the same paper and cut one of the a quarter inch smaller on 2 sides and distressed all the sides. I put cardboard under it to make it stand out.

I picked 2 Molds. One from Vintage Art Decor Mould - Baroque 6 - 814823 and the other from Vintage Art Decor Mould - Baroque 3 - 814793. I painted them with Art Alchemy - Acrylic Paint - Metallique light patina - 963248 accenting it with Art Alchemy - Acrylic Paint - Metallique Steampunk Copper - 963064. I dry brushed the little resin frame (Prima - Shabby Chic Treasure - 892098) with the Steampunk copper. Inside I used one of the stickers from Authentique. The two little Tim Holtz bottles I filled one with glitter and the other with aqua colored beads. One of the brads would look great as a picture frame. I put some Dresden trim on the bottom of the "mantle" piece. With the kit we got a wonder collection of blue French Riviera flowers and the beige flowers were in our March kit.

The metal adornments are also part of the May kit. There is a whole assortment. Aren't they just wonderful!

This months Flying Unicorn kit is just fabulous and I hope you have as much fun creating with it as I have.

Below is the list with used items. As always my

T'is the season - Merry Christmas! Card Set

Hi paper friends!

Sharing with you a couple of Christmas cards I've made for a Christmas Card Challenge. The paper used is Riddersholm Design - Christmas Cozy line. First I prepared the papers with clear gesso. Once dry I picked my stencils and applied the paste to the paper.

I had some beautiful Creative Embellishment chipboards. Sprayed them Prima Color Blooms. using these same sprays I splattered over my card. Also using 13 @rts - brown mist.

The Petaloo flowers are a perfect fit for these cards.
The titles are Authentique Petite Words.

For the second card the same procedures were used. Just with a a couple of changes.

A different chippie, and stencil.

I hope you enjoyed the cards.

Have a scrappy day all!

Prima Wall Art Contest - Celebration!

Hello Paper Friends!

Today I want to share my latest project. A watercolor panel decorated in bright springy colors.
I've been looking for a project so I could use this photo from a flower arrangement we had in our hotel while visiting the Netherlands. This turned out the perfect one.

Instead of using water colors I decided to play with the new gorgeous Art alchemy paints. They have such a beautiful sheen. I started out with the Rich Turquoise - 963231, mixing a small amount with some water and splatter it over the panel. Trying to create some running effects and splatters.

I continued with the Lime Peel - 963224 putting some on a dish with a brush and picking a stamp from the Inksplatter stamp set - 580223, using the paint as my ink spreading it over the panel. Don't forget the sides. Last color is the Pure Sunshine - 963187. For this one I used the Coffeestain stampset - 580247. The effect is quite radiant and totally matches the photo.

Now that my background was done it was time to start with the rest of decorating. I used a journal card from Royal Menagerie - 582593with some Dresden Trim. The feathers are from the Garden Fable chipboard collection - 579074. I covered the Creative Embellishment chipboard branch with brown liquid pearl.

The big blue flower is from Royal Menagerie - Mary - 583282. The yellow flowers I got from my friend Heather Thompson. So a big shout out to her for finding me some yellow Prima flowers to match the theme. They are Mini Bouquet Alyssa - 538583. I added some cheese cloth through the arrangement for an extra detail.

The final touch was covering the pink letters of celebration with green Liquid Pearl for my title.

This was my process of making this wallart. I hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you for looking.

A beautiful Journey

Hello paper friends!

Another day another layout.
Today I want to share with you one I made with the Prima - French Riviera papers and flowers. I started out with a sheet from Prima - Watercolor 12x12 Paper Pad - 847753 as my base. Going through the French Riviera collection I choose a couple of other papers and started to tear them.

After that I distressed the torn sides a little more. For my photo I chose an old one from way back when I was only about 18 months old. These papers are so great with sepia colored photos.
I choose a Creative Embellisment Chipboard frame and partially made it sticky so the Christine Adolph oil would stick to it.

I didn't want to have it stick everywhere, but like a distressed look to it in the royal blue color, to match the blues of the background papers and flowers.
I placed the Photo and frame in the middle of the page.

On the top of the photo I placed a Mold from IOD that I had rubbed with the same blue foil sheet previously used on the frame. It gave me the result I wanted.

Looking at my layout sofar I felt the background was to white so I got out an IOD Art Cling Stamp - 814656 and covered it with it. Now I was ready to start with my flower arrangements.

French Riviera Flowers - Boulevard de la Croisette - 586218, French Riviera Flowers - Vintage Quarter - 586140, French Riviera Flowers - La Mer - 586171, French Riviera Flowers - Plages du Prado - 586201

In between the flowers I tucked some ribbon and another Creative Embellishment chipboard that I stamped. Hidden in between the "foliage you can find some Christine Adolph Rub-on leaves done in gold. The tittle to my page is from the French Riviera Collection.

The final pieces to the layout were the lace on the top and bottom. It's actually a piece I cut in halve. All that was left to do was add some splatters of  13@rts ink, Prima - Color bloom - Empress Gold and a dash of gesso here and there and we're all done.

Thank you for checking out the process of this layout.
