MTW - FUL - Happy Days!

Hello Paper and Uni friends! Sharing with you my latest layout made with the October Flying Unicorn Your Passion Your Art Kit. The 49 and Market papers are just super gorgeous and we can use it for so many color schemes.

It's been a few years since we went to the  Star Trek Las Vegas Convention.  This year was the big 50th Celebration. Star Trek has had quite the impact on us as a family and ever since it was first televised 50 years ago. It's brought about quite a change, a positive change I would say.

There are a couple of pages in the Heirloom Botanical Collection with purple colors, some are more blueish and then we have the peachy/orange ones. So many choices.

I went with the purple one, and just love the wood-grain look. My background was created 2 different stamps and a variety of stencils and gesso. Once they were all dry I used a color bloom to add some color to it to tie back in with the edge of the page. Instead of cutting it off I like the look of it.

While the background is drying I picked out my chipboard pieces and started to color them. The circle one I colored purple and the gears I treated with the Prima rust pastes. Giving it a rustic look. Assembling the pieces on the page it was time to pick out the flowers. I wanted to keep it in the same color range.

Adding some string and lace for that extra bit of something makes it look all the nicer. Try to tuck some in here and there. A little bit of splatters and we're all done.

  1. Hi Lydia, thanks for the bit of nostalgia. My brothers and I would be glued to the TV to watch that series, and we always go together now to watch any new movie releases, but how lucky for you to actually go to a convention! I adore your cluster work. Thank you for joining us at More Than Words this month!
