Hello Paper & Uni friends.
It's Lydia here with a today post for Flying Unicorn.
I recently watched a Ustream by Marta Lapkowska and loved how she started the background of one of her tags, so here goes my version of it.
I started with a Prima Chipboard tag and painted it with the Prima - Art Alchemy - Acrylic Paint Metallique Rich Turquoise - 963231. These paints are just so great, I love the shimmer and they dry so quickly. Since it's the base layer I could quickly spread a thick layer of Prima - Texture Paste - Platinum Crackle - 961527. I placed my 2Crafty chipboard in the paste so it functioned as an adhesive as well. Since the layer was so thick I let it all dry overnight.
The crackle really worked nicely and the blue still showed through it. I first misted the chippies with Prima - Color Bloom - Cobalt - 573898, dabbing the excess of, once dried I also misted it with the Shimmerz - Vibez - Palm Reader letting some of the residue dry up. It gives a whole mixture of colors.
The edges of the tag I dry-brush with Prima - Art alchemy - Acrylic Paint Metallique Steampunk Copper - 963064 with an extra layer of Tim Holtz - Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. I gave the chipies an extra bit of zing with Prima - Rub on Foil - Bora Bora - 585655. I put some of glue here and there and rub the foil over it and it stuck here and there. I like that grungy look.
Now that I have that part done I added 2 pieces of moulding. I made them with the Prima - IOD - Baroque 6 - 814823. I first painted it with Prima - Art Alchemy - Acrylic Paint Opal Magic Blue Gold - 963675 and dry brushed it with Prima - Art alchemy - Acrylic Paint Metallique Steampunk Copper - 963064. I glued it to the tag offset from each other.
Now it's time for adding some flowers. Prima - Kindled - Lush - 581428, Prima - French Riviera Flowers - 586218 and Prima - French Riviera Flowers - 586218. Putting some Prima string through the flowers. A final splatter with 13@rts mist and a couple of diamontes and the tag is all done.
I hope you like the project!

ReplyDeleteWhat is a 'chippie'?
Nan, chipboard piece or chippie is the same. I've lived in Australia for 12 years and we shorten words a lot like that, although I've heard my American friends refer to them like that as well. :) I hope this has helped. Have a great day.
