The papers used are from the Prima - Ladybird collection and it fits the color scheme perfectly.

The pictures were taken at the Flying Unicorn Camp last year October and it shows the fun and camaraderie we experienced there. It was so much fun. I hope this layout it showing it.

Enchanted!

Hello friends!

Time for something completely different this time!
I Started with the Prima wood trays. I used Prima - Finnabair - Metallic Royal Red- Art Alchemy - 963088 as a base color. I put some on my work mat and sprayed water on it to water it down, when it got soaked in the wood trays it gave it that pinkish red finish. After making sure that was dry I dry brushed over parts with Prima heavy Gesso - 961442.
The previous days I had already made some molds in the new IOD molds I got earlier and sorted through them to see which ones I wanted to use. I got one from Baroque 3-814793, Baroque 6-814823 & Baroque 4-814809.

I started with the my base color and I used Finnabair Acrylic paint Metallique - Steampunk Copper - 963064. I just love these paints. Just dip the tip of your brush in it, dry it of some and dry brush the piece. Pick up a bit more paint and so on. It creates a rustic kind of weathered look. Which I was going for. I moved to the Prima - Finnabair - Metallic Dark Velvet- Art Alchemy - 963125 for some darker details and shading in t on the pieces. On my balustrade, as it is now called. I decided to put some of the Dresden trim. My wonderful friend Heather Thompson sent me some and it was perfect timing.

For the backgrounds of all the trays I used Prima 12x12 Tales of You and Me-Notre jardin Secret 990800. I did a lot of fuzzy cutting. First the flower borders and the fence. Making sure to keep the middle looking good so I could still use them for the backgrounds. I liked the purple hue of it together with the red/pinks. When I started the project I had no clear idea what it was going to turn out like. Maybe that's half the fun.

There are multiple layers inside the first tray to give it depth. In the Prima - 6x6 Paper Pad Tales of You and Me 584399 is a page with the little butterflies I cut out. I also found the tittle Enchanted in there and from there on the whole theme just came together. I needed to find some fairies.

I started with my flower arrangement, and if anyone knows me, I love my flowers, I'm a big hoarder of flowers, so I went all out on the flowers. Starting with my Prima-Tales of You & Me Vine - 586256 and printed Vine - 578268. Filling it up with Prima Flowers - 586362, Prima Flowers - 586263Prima Flowers- 586287Prima Flowers - 586348 and some little whit roses form my stash I sprayed with mist to make them blend in with the arrangement.

Prima 12x12 Tales of You and Me-Contes de Toi et Mai 990817 paper is used for the bigger butterflies and the same paper is used from the 6x6 collection. The Prima 12x12 Tales of You and Me-Notre Amour Sera a Jamais 990855 paper has the lady I cut out and gave her a little crown with the same Dresden trim. All the layers in place. The butterflies coated with the watered down layer of gold or red acrylic paint to give it some sheen. I used the Prima - Composition Book 6x6 Stencil 584641 and some Prima gold crackle texture paste - 961558 for some touches on the trays. My final touches are some splatters with Prima Color Bloom Empress Gold - 580315. This project took a while but was fun to create.

I hope you liked it and as usual my products are supplied by Flying Unicorn!

Let's explore!

Hello Friends!

I'm back with another layout using the magnificent Prima papers. This time the French Riviera line designed by Frank Garcia.

I had this old picture of my father when he was in the sea scouts that would fit perfectly. So off I went and started my design, tearing papers, tucking in strips.
I had a little bit left from the Dresden trim from Art Venture and tucked it in too.

I chose a Christine Adolph Adhesive Rub-on and cut it in 2 parts. adhered it to the middle part on the page, making sure it is still visible once my photo and all the other embellishments are on the page.
I like to use a variety of the foils to give it a different look.

After matting the photo I backed it with extra chipboard. For an extra nautical look I searched through the Prima French Riviera Chipboard collection and picked the ones I wanted to use.

The structure of my flower arrangement was the Vine and started building from there. The flowers are such a gorgeous variety. I'm in love the the tiny little flowers Prima brought out this time.

In the 12x12 collection there is page full of stickers and I chose one as my tittle. From the ephemera collection I chose the lighthouse and added that to my layout.

It's coming together very nicely. Love designing with collection that have everything that matches. Yummie. As usual I get my supplies from Flying Unicorn. Get yours while you can.

FUL - OTP - Create!

Hello Uni & Paper friends!

This months Flying Unicorns OTP is a picture frame. I started out with a plan to decorate it and half way through it totally fell apart, so back to the drawing board. Sometimes that just happens. So for my second go I started with painting it black.

After the frame was dry I mixed some of the 13@rts purple paint with 13@rts Mica power to make some paste and using the TWC stencil applied some to the frame. I repeated the process with the Green and Silver.

After that dried I panted the black parts of the frame with Tim Holtz black Crackle paint. That had to dry for a while to get the right crackle effect.

I painted the Create with the purple paint and after that gave it a coat with Stickles.

After everything was good and dry it was time for the decoration on the side. I wanted to keep it simple. I know I normally go for lots and lots of flowers but with this I wanted something different. I ran one of the Studio 75 papers through my die cut machine using the Prima - Metal die-cut - Emmanuel Fleurs. I painted a piece of bamboo and some twigs black, giving the ends a touch of the Opal green-gold. Used another heart from the new Christine Adolph - Adhesive Rub-Ons putting some silver and gold foil on it. Only the one purple flower and some green metal cord.

For a project that started out quite disastrous, I think it turned out quite nice.

Thank you for looking.

Tales of us!

 Hello Paper Friends!

I'm back with another layout using some Prima papers. One after another the new winter releases are gorgeous and Tales of You & Me does not disappoint at all. It's so romantic. Needless to say I wanted it all, so when Flying Unicorn received all their new Prima goodies I send in a big big order. I was also lucky to have gone to Art Venture in Anaheim in January to work with some of the new lines and meet the designers up close and personal. Such a treat.

I started out with this layout using 2 of the papers. 12x12 Tales of You and Me-Notre Amour Sera a Jamais and 12x12 Tales of You and Me-Beaute Cachee. I cut out the frame part from the first paper and layed it on top of the second paper. With the cut outs I made 4 doilies. Two of the doilies I cut apart to make peak from the sides. My background was basically set up.

I used my favorite picture of the two of us. Stuck it on some cardboard to give it some depth and started with my flower arrangements. Mind you, this can go with a lot of umming and ahhing. All in all it took me  quite a while to find the right flower for the right spot.

Adding some trim here and there. Mixing up the different kinds of trim, bringing a little gold to the mix. A lottle pop of white. Using a few crystals, and I almost went overboard with that. Luckily I was in time to take them off again.

A couple of vine leaves and a little hint of gold splatter as my final touches and I was happy with my romantic layout. I hope you like it too.

Thank you for looking!
Below is the list of materials I used for my layout.

As always my main source of supplies is from the Flying Unicorn store! A great way to shop!

FUL - Card set - Love - Inspire!

Hallo Uni & Paper friends!

This is my second card & tag set using the Flying Unicorn Your Passion Your Art March Kit.

The Studio 75 - Lavender Morning really are a good match for a spring kind of card or tag.
For the tag I started with a white tag I had in my stash stamped it in 2 matching colors with a japanese blossom stamp and cut out a bigger  tag from the 6x6 pack. On one of the strips we got in the kit there was a a smaller version of the tag which I also cut out. I used the new Studio 75 Stencil with gold paste, it gives it a nice little effect. The title Inspire I sprayed with Color Blooms Gold.  I lined up 3 roses from the kit with some raffia. The bronze colored butterfly was a nice accent to this tag.

For the card I started with a mat, 2 strips of papers and a small tag. I cut out a doily with one of the papers to match it. The love heart from the Rub on pack from the kit makes a shiny addition to this card. The big purple is from my stash and the rest was all part of this wonderful One Month One Kit. I colored the tiny roses to match the color scheme.

A couple of close ups to see the splatters and details of the cards. It's so easy to overlook them.

I hope you liked the making of the cards. Thank you for looking.

Most of the used items were from the Flying Unicorn Your Pasion Your Art Kit and a couple of things from my stash!

Have a wonderful scrappy day!

FUL - One Month One Kit - Cheeky!

Hello Friends!

It's time to reveal the second layout from the Flying Unicorn Your Passion Your Art Kit.
With the Creative Embellishment Chippies we got in the the kit and the colors of the Studio 75 Lavender Morning Papers it has a bit of an oriental feel to it. Or maybe it's just me, ;)!

This month I'm doing layouts with more then 1 picture. Sometimes it's just fun to change things up.
The 3 different purple-ish toned papers I used in this layout tearing strips randomly for a quirky look.
The Creative Embellishments we got in the kit I covered with Ranger Liquid Pearls.

For the background I used the Prima - Birdy Nest 6x6 Stencil and opaque Prima paste. To give it a softer look. On top of that I layered some of the papers I cut in strips backed with cardboard to give it some depth. I colored some cheesecloth with purple mist to put behind my photo's.

I created a flower arrangement in front of the pictures with the branches, flowers and cut-outs.

In between I tucked some cheese cloth. The two resin pieces are part of the kit.
