Prima June PPP - Altered Bottle

Hello Paper and Mixed Media friends!
Today I want to share with you something totally new with you. Have not really done this before and it was quite exciting. I'm entering this project in the Prima June PPP.

While at Art Venture this year we got this box with an assortment of bottles that had flowers in them. To do this project I decided to use one of the little flower bottles. I started of with coating it with Heavy Gesso. Always a good thing to start of with a good base.

Once dry I choose my stencil and used the modelling paste to put some flower texture on the glass.

Since I knew I wanted to use the rust pastes and also felt it needed a more weathered look, I decided to add some Mini Art Stones mixed with the paste to create more bulk to the "Rust" areas.

Once this was all nicely dried it was time to paint it all with a layer of the Finnabair Steampunk Copper. I just love these paints and particularly this color!

This photo is special to me, I decided to post it on my Facebook and Instagram and boy what an amazing thing happened. First Mixed Media Place re-posted my picture then Prima Marketing and then Finnabair. Wowzers that was freaking awesome!
So to go back to my process of making my project. It was time to start with the rust. They're so cool to mix and match you're colors, A little bit of the brown, a little of the orange, a little of the yellow, You just layer and do what you like. Dry some in between and if you're not happy you add some more. The texture is amazing and so real. Super cool.

In the mean time I also attached the cork lid to the bottle so that was not going anywhere and spread the rust paste over the rope some as well.

Since I was going for the copper effect I added the green bloom and Shimmerz. Time to start decorating the bottle.

The vine is from an older collection, since I had ran out of the French Riviera vines. Honestly I can never have enough vines. I just love using them in my projects. The tag is from the Sea Shore collection and the Beige flowers and Wood Embellishment are from French Riviera. So all in all quite the combination of collections

On the the base of the bottle I glued some shells and mini Art-Stones to resemble sand. The Shells I first prepared in true Frank Garcia style. With crackle, Artisan powder and color bloom mist.

I hope you enjoyed the process of my project.
